The Wedding Dress

After I finished my Storytime series, I realized I left out a fun anecdote.  I’ve decided to go ahead and share it now.
One of my greatest joys in life is freaking Mr. BUB out.  Whether it’s jumping out from around a corner or just messing with his head, I love it.
So, here’s what happened…
Mr. BUB and I had dated about 2 or 3 years at this point.  We hadn’t discussed weddings or committment yet at this point.
My company had a display booth at a small show and we used my business partner’s designer wedding gown as part of the display.  She was unable to make the show and instructed me to just take the dress home and get it to her the next time we were together.
She ended up moving, leaving the dress with me for an extended period of time.  So I stashed it in the back of my closet for safe keeping and forgot about it.
This is where the fun part begins…
Me: Babe, will you get that box off the shelf in my closet?
Mr. BUB: Sure.
{A couple minutes later.}
Mr. BUB: Um…babe?  Why is there a wedding dress in your closet?
Me (seeing the opportunity): Why wouldn’t there be a wedding dress in my closet?
Mr. BUB: Um, because we’re not engaged?
Me: What?!  You don’t remember?!
Mr. BUB: Remember what?!
Me:  I can’t believe this!  You said you weren’t drunk!
Mr. BUB:  I don’t know what you’re talking about!
Me: {Uncontrollable laughter}
 …for the record, Mr. BUB didn’t find it near as funny as I did.
