Book Club: Clear

Today is Book Club Friday!

You can write about any book you want.

This week I'm reviewing...

Here's the synopsis:

Stella Ford’s grasp on reality is already loose, and it’s about to come undone.

When the college junior flees Chicago and leaves her toxic family behind, she heads for coastal Maine to find the one person who brought her peace years ago: Sam Bishop. But the Sam she once knew now has painful secrets.

Stella is determined to heal them both. Healing, however, is a challenge when the walls of her everyday existence collapse. And when Sam’s best friend is his worst enemy.

When the line between life and death blurs.

When an end is just a beginning.

When lust and rage rule.

Yet during extraordinary chaos, there can be extraordinary love, even if that love comes with a twist.

Welcome to death tripping.

Here are my thoughts:

Okay, so it's no secret around these parts that I don't read many paranormal books.  In fact, this is probably the first full blown paranormal book I've ever read and it certainly threw me for a loop.

I've read all of Jessica Park's books to date and have absolutely loved all of them.  Clear is a complete change from everything she's written before and it's a crazy ride.  Stella's journey to find Sam in Maine and build a life with some normalcy was one of my favorite story lines in a long time.  With Jessica's writing, I could picture the Maine coastline and smell the salty air.

I'm afraid to say anything else and risk of giving away a surprise in the book, so I'll leave it at this:  Clear is is a wild ride, with some unquestionably intense moments, but I enjoyed every minute (even the ones that freaked me out a little).

What are you currently reading??
