My Day as a SAHM

In my personal life, I've made it no secret that I'd love to be a Stay at Home Mom.  That's just not something that fits in with our lifestyle, and I accept that.  But that doesn't mean I soaked up every minute of a day I had off last week with my little one.

And I took it as a personal challenge to show Mr. BUB what an awesome SAHM I'd be...I'll let you decide whether I convinced him or not.
...

We started the day by waiting for the carpet cleaners to come to our ours.  Skeeter actually slept this whole time.  Once we woke up, we went to Chik fil a and she loved watching the big kids run around and play.  Once we were done eating, we had to go to her 12 month check up and she had shots and blood drawn, which led to a fussy baby.  I found out later that evening that she was cutting two teeth!  I felt awful and tried to make it up to her with ice cream...it didn't get me far!

We went home and let her rest for a bit, before heading to the grocery store.  At this point, she was totally over it!  I love the "no way am I sitting down in this seat, momma!" glare I'm getting.

I was so worried about getting her home quickly, that this happened...

Yep, I think I'm totally convincing him to let me stay home at this point...and if that didn't seal the deal?  The carpets weren't dry by the time he got home so this is what our kitchen looked like:

All of the furniture in our kitchen.

To sum it up?
I'm still gainfully employed.

This is why you should do it for more than one day ... to get yourself into the groove :)

LOVE that face she is giving you about getting in the car seat. Adorable!
I have days like that I've been a SAHM since Mackenzie was 4/5 months old.

Haha I agree with Whitney! I say the carpet cleaners ruined it all.

And by Whitney, I mean Jo. Obviously I can't read.

I think you did a pretty good job. I mean the baby was alive and well when he got home from work? Boom. Job done!

Oh I think you'd do a great job staying at home. In a perfect world, when we have kids, I'd stay at home until they are back in school then slide back into a job...but we know that's not happening in today's economy!

Skeeter has one mean stink eye!! I'm already afraid to cross her!

Lol, she is GLARING at you! Poor thing, and poor you - I imagine being a SAHM is a ton of work! I bet you did great tho. :)

One day doesn't prove anything!! Being a SAHM is hard because you have to deal with things like you did and I'm sure you did really great!

Not all days are that busy, I promise. I was a SAHM for a little over two years and loved it. But, unfortunately due to finances I needed to go back to work. Luckily it's just part time so I still am able to spend a lot of hours at home.
I think you did a great job :D

I don't like the days that I have a whole bunch of errands to run. My 20 month old HATES having to get back in his carseat so many times, and he outright refuses to sit down. It's always fun times. :) I much prefer the days we can stay at home (which is most of them). I try to save grocery shopping or Target runs until daddy is home in the evenings, so I can go alone. And bonus: it gives me a little break too. :)

I love that you blacked out what I can only assume was a bad word in your text about forgetting sausage? And, might I add, skeeter looks BEAUTIFUL in yellow.

If you were both alive and well at the end of the day it was NOT a fail! :)

Hahah! This is awesome. I'm a terrible stay at home mom. My husband helps me clean after the kids go to bed. That's awful! But I do make him a lunch every day. Maybe that makes up for it.

Love the glare!

The glare is my favorite! At least she just stands there - if V isn't in the mood to sit in her seat, she'd end up on the floor of the car if we let her. hahaha

I think you did an excellent job as a SAHM ;)
