Skeeter's Birthday Party: The Details

So...my baby is one.  And even though she's technically considered a toddler, I'm still going to call her my baby.  And that applies as long as I'm breathing.

And on that same note?  I have only cried once about her growing so fast.  Umm..today, anyway.  Let's change the topic, okay?

Her birthday party was last Saturday and it was a blast!  The preparations were a whirlwind and nothing would've gotten done if it weren't for the help of my mom and Mr. BUB's step mom.  And of course, Mr. BUB and his dad handling the food.

I didn't choose a real theme, other than pink.  And lesbehonest, that's all the theme a girl really needs.

Without further ado...

I always keep two of these vases on our dining table and I change the contents based on the holiday or event.  In this case, I had a bunch of left over tissue, so I filled the vase with it.

I asked everyone to not bring presents...by the end of the party, the buffet was loaded with presents.  And Skeeter loved each one!  This is also a good view of the handmade poms.

The spread before the real food (aka the brisket, chicken wings, and riblets) hit the table.

A view of the dining room.

The pinterest inspired cake I made!
Don't worry...tomorrow's post will include the pictures of the birthday princess herself!

Happy Birthday Skeeter!!!

I've always wanted to make that kind of cake, but the kit-kat bars around the edge made me feel too guilty. Looks delicious though!!
