Skeeter's Birthday: The Girl

I tried to post this yesterday but for some reason the pictures wouldn't load.  So I pulled it down, fixed it last night, and am re-posting it.  Sorry for the confusion!
...

The day of her birthday party, Skeeter was...well, cranky.  She slept a lot of the day and woke up in time for her party, but she really wasn't having any of it.  About halfway through the party, she started rubbing her eyes like she was ready for another nap, so I decided we needed to do cake before she crashed.

We sang her happy birthday, then sat her in front of the cake.  And she wanted nothing to do with it.  Mr. BUB put her hands on the cake and she cried, because they were covered in icing and tried to wipe it off.  I started feeding her small bites of the cake and she decided she liked that.  By the time I took her out of the highchair, she was covered in icing- from her hair to her toes!

And once the sugar kicked in, so did her personality.  She was laughing and talking to all the kids and crawling around to play.  She opened a couple presents, but we saved the bulk for the next morning, which was her actual birthday.

Um, I don't want this mom.
Why do I have frosting on me?
Oh, maybe this isn't so bad...
Ms. Personality was kissing on her new Minnie Mouse doll.
All in all, it was a successful day!

I intended to take more pictures in her birthday outfit on her actual birthday, but I washed and it ruined!!  I'm going to try to find another cute outfit in her size and take them again.

Soooo smart to take her out of clothes for her cake! When our niece turned one, no one thought to take her out of her dress and it was a MESS!

What a sweet baby!!! She does look a little sleepy in those first pictures. I love that the cake looks like a giant cupcake - adorable!

1st- WOW that’s a huge cupcake. I want one. :P Cupcakes are lower in calories than a whole cake. And 2nd- I love the picture of you lighting her cake, while your friends are in the background looking like they are posing for the paparazzi lol. Still bummed I missed the party :)
