Indecisive.

I mentioned before that we're currently in the process of looking for a new BUB casa.  We've actually been passively looking for a couple months now.  We explored the idea of building a home, but the lot we were in love with was sold out from underneath us.  When we weren't able to find a comparable lot, we conceded that we may just have to sell our house and rent for a year until something comes up.

Now?

We're considering the idea of buying a house in the middle of our price range and fixing it up to our liking.  Seriously, we're so indecisive right now.

But there are two houses we just came across that are viable options...and we're looking at one today!  So with us luck.

...

Of course, the flip side of this is us getting our current house ready to list.  Our checklist is still a mile long, but I've given us a deadline of, um...February 1st to finish.  Clearly, that hasn't happened.  But I'm hoping to finish it all this weekend so our realtor can get pictures and get the ball rolling.  I'm getting a little impatient here.

Really though, I'm praying that God will guide us to the plan that is best for us as a family.  We've agreed that we're not rushing into anything and we're not settling.

Of course I'll share pictures as everything unfolds!

With the way the housing market is, I think we're going to run into that same problem when it comes our time to sell our condo. Good luck with looking today!

I remember how frustrating and stressful that is. I know you will figure it out though!

I don't know if this is helpful, but we have both purchased an existing home and built one, so I learned a couple things along the way.
1) If you're going to buy a preexisting home, make sure it's one you plan to stay in a LONG time. If you're going to sink all that reno money into it, you want to enjoy your investment. Not just turn around and sell it once the work's all done to your liking.
2) Building a home is a very frustrating and long process. No matter how long they tell you it will take, you can add a few months to that. If you're going to build a home from scratch, plan on sinking a lot of money into making it perfect from the start. Builders overcharge for everything. We ended up buying an almost base model and now we're customizing it ourselves. Unfortunately b/c we bought the house after previous sellers dropped out, there were some structural things we couldn't change, but we love our lot. I advise against doing that - don't pick a house someone else started unless you are 100% happy with ALL of their choices. We really regret not having a three car garage and b/c of the lot size, we can never add that on.
Also remember that you can't really decorate a newly built house for at least a year. I mean, you can, but you'll probably end up redoing it after the year inspection. We have tons of repair work that will need to be done from the house settling through all the season changes. It sucks living without any color on the walls, but we're happy we won't have to have it painted twice.
Good luck! I know how frustrating it can be! Feel free to pick my brain about building if you want!

Searching for a house can be so frustrating. But if you're not rushing it or dead set on moving at a certain time, that will make it easier. You can take your sweet time and find something you like. Good luck!!

Hubs and I are actually debating if we should sell our house and move to the 'burbs. We can pay what we paid for our house now and it will be fully updated already...I just don't know if I want the commute. God will guide you!!!!! Trust me!!! You will know when it is right!!!! xoxo

I bought my house in August and it's always a big step trying to move and buy a home. I think when you find a lot or a house you'll just know when it's the right one and feel. Hang in there!

We're in the same boat and it is SO overwhelming! Buy a house? Build a house? Stay where we are and save some money? So frustrating! I understand! Good luck!
