HEY! Tara from fabulous but evil here guest posting for Heather today.
I've challenged myself to read 100 books in 2013 and so far I've already knocked out 12 books! Today I wanna tell y'all about one of my favorites that I've read this year..
SYNOPSIS from goodreads:
A zombie who yearns for a better life ends up falling in love—with a human—in this astonishingly original debut novel.
R is a zombie. He has no memories, no identity, and no pulse, but he has dreams. He doesn’t enjoy killing people; he enjoys riding escalators and listening to Frank Sinatra. He is a little different from his fellow Dead.
Not just another zombie novel, Warm Bodies is funny, scary, and deeply moving.

MY THOUGHTS:
Let me say up front that zombie books are typically not my thing. I have read one other zombie book and I did not enjoy it at all. That said, I saw the preview for the movie based on this book and it made me want to immediately read the book.
I really enjoyed this book. I didn't want to put it down. It was the perfect mix of sweet, creepy (he is a zombie, after all), and sad. I loved the writing and the characters. When you really get into it, you realize the story is about so much more than a zombie-human romance. I realize not everyone will fall in love with this book, but it was so much more than I expected it to be!
And just for fun, here's the preview for the movie:

I had seen the book long ago, and pretty much ignored it. But when I saw the preview for the movie, it clicked that it was a book and I knew I had to read it asap!
Haha, I'm not into the whole zombie thing either, but I want to see the movie; I had no idea it was a book!
The synopsis just sounds silly but I have liked your recommendations in the past. LOL
I loved this book! Have you read the host? Can't wait to see the movie. and if you're at 12 already, you should blow past a hundred. I set my goal of 365 a few years ago...I read 361...and I was devastated. haha
I keep seeing the previews for this and wanting to both see & read it! And while I don't consider myself a zombie person, I absolutely loved Cold Kiss which is a zombie book (although it really didn't feel like one to me).
I don't know how well I'd like this book, but the movie does sound interesting!
