Purple

In case you didn't know...

  1. Purple is my favorite color.
  2. Skeeter is a preemie.
  3. Skeeter is my favorite.
So when I came across, this I was ecstatic!

The March of Dimes is working on a petition to President Obama for the White House to be lit purple in honor of babies who were born prematurely!  January 3, 2012 is the 75th anniversary of the March of Dimes, so what better time?!

There are currently just over 10,000 signatures on the petition, which seems like a lot- but they need 25,000!

Take a minute and sign the petition.  It's so quick!  Just create an account and click "sign the petition".

Skeeter thanks you in advance.

PS if you need me today, I'll be at the Nutcracker Market!!!  It's Skeeter's first trip, so wish us luck!

Disclaimer: This is not a sponsored post.  This is just a cause I believe in.  The March of Dimes helped Skeeter and our family during our time in NICU.  We have never received monetary compensation.

That is so awesome! I am definitely signing. My son wasn't preemie, unless you count a week early, but he was just a little too small for preemie clothes! He was such a little guy (:

Signed! And I will be doing a post later because this hits close to home. My older was born 3 months premature and I couldn't imagine my life without him. My mom wrote a journal and I recently was able to read it and to see the struggle and daily concern they went through brought and still brings tears to my eyes. Each day was a question if he would make it through the end of the day. And recently he got married and it was emotional to see my parents so happy he was able to make it to that day, because when he was born they didn't know if he would even make it out of the hospital.

I'll have the post up by the end of the day.
