Here's the synopsis:
Tessa Russo is the mother of two young children and the wife of a renowned pediatric surgeon.  Despite her own mother's warnings, Tessa has recently given up her career to focus on her family and the pursuit of domestic happiness. From the outside, she seems destined to live a charmed life.

Valerie Anderson is an attorney and single mother to six-year-old Charlie--a boy who has never known his father.  After too many disappointments, she has given up on romance--and even to some degree, friendships--believing that it is always safer not to expect too much.

Although both women live in the same Boston suburb, the two have relatively little in common aside from a fierce love for their children.  But one night, a tragic accident causes their lives to converge in ways no one could have imagined.

Here are my thoughts:
I really wanted to love this book.  I've loved all of Giffin's other books.  But I just didn't.  I weirdly found myself rooting for Valerie, instead of Tessa and I really should've been in Tessa's corner.  Overall, I'd skip this one.

This is why I never read this Emily Giffin book. Everyone's opinion of it isn't great so I'm always torn because I really loved her other five books. I'm sure someday I'll read it and I'll have the same opinion as everyone else. ;)

Thanks for always hosting this link-up! It's my favorite! :)

I would agree, of all of Giffin's books, this was my least favorite. It wasn't terrible, just not her best. Have you read her new one yet?

I'm kinda over the cheating spouse/fiancee issue in her books. :(

This one wasn't my favorite of hers either for the same reason-- the mistress was too sympathetic for my liking.

Good to know! I wanted to read it but I think I'll wait until it's a little cheaper to buy it!

I would actually be in agreement with you, this has been my least favorite of her books. But she just came out with a new one I'm ecstatic to read :)

I need to jump on the Emily Giffin bandwagon already. The storyline sounds interesting but I'll take your word for this one!

I liked it, but it was too sad and I was sobbing at the end of the book!! I'm glad she tackled this subject thou. She's so refreshing as chic lit. I love her first 2 Something Borrowed and Something Blue.

I did enjoy this one, but completely understand where you're coming from. It was hard reading a book where you weren't sure who to root from. It definitely made the book difficult to read, and really think about who exactly was right. Or really that no one can be 100% right in most situations.

This was my least favorite E. Giffin book, I was so disappointed with it!

So glad I read your review! I read a sample of it a while back and have been thinking about getting it to see where the story went. But, I guess I'll pass on this one and read her latest one instead. =)
