Stop Calling Me.

When I got pregnant, I knew I wouldn't be that mom.
You know, the one the freaks out over everything?

I was raised with two brothers significantly younger than me, so I've always been comfortable with babies.
I also worked in the church nursery.
I was sure I'd seen it all.

Maybe it's the fact that Skeeter was a preemie.
Maybe it was the time spent in NICU.
Maybe it's that she's my own baby.

Either way...

I'm that mom.

And I'm fairly certain our pediatrician is thisclose to having a restraining order put on me for the number of times I call him...

Is it okay for her to go to daycare?

I'm taking _____ medication, can I still nurse her?

She hasn't pooed in two days...what do I do?

Are you sure it's okay for her to go to daycare?

She doesn't have any symptoms, but I'm sure she has thrush.

I'm now taking _______ and _______...are you sure I can nurse?

Her poo is a funny color, is she okay?

Is she supposed to toot this much?

Can we please get rid of her apnea monitor?

...

Who knew poo would be such a hot topic?

I think I'll be the exact same way!! I'm already like that with our dog and cat... I can't imagine what it's going to be like with an actual baby!

This made me laugh! Like you I've been around babies my whole life but I'm sure that when I have my own, I'll be the same way. :)

I'm so the same way - I had to ban myself from googling parenting questions because it totally freaked me out. Definitely better to call the doctor than try to diagnose on your own with the help of the internet :)

I thought I'd be the same way. Never a phone call. I would be fine after years and years of babysitting.
However, I call my mom 10 time a day! When I don't like her answer, I've been known to call the doctor when I don't like her answer. :o)
And I have made a call to the doctor about poo too. :o)

I swore I'd never be that mom either but now my pedi is on speed dial and if you saw my google search history, you'd think I was crazy. ha! Poop and gas are hot topics around here too! Fun times! :)

Haha! Better to be safe than sorry, right?! ;) You're a good momma! I definitely call my mom a few times a day! No shame in that. Also, I feel like poo is a hot topic for most mommas! At least I hope so because I talk about it a lot.

Yes! I was calling all the time, I would go between my doctor and the nurse line with my insurance company.

haha this totally and completely reminds me of FRIENDS, when Rachel calls her pediatrician 1000 times and then he starts hanging up on her! And I wouldn't be surprised if we just didn't see the part of the show where he puts a restraining order on her! lol Good luck with the new mom jitters! :)

Haha I imagine I would be that mom...i am that way about myself so I know it would be worse with another person in my care

Oh seriously? I am the same way but more about her crying than anything else. I don't let her cry just to let her cry usually and I make our parents PROMISE they won't let her cry when they are babysitting, haha!

haha...it just means you are a great mom! there's no such thing as caring too much. ; )
