Fail.

You ever just have one of those days where you can't seem to do anything right?  It seems I've had one of those days, but it lasted a whole weekend.

Fail #1
Well, the picture speaks for itself.

At least Grayson was happy?

Fail #2
Skeeter's fingernails were getting long, so I got out the infant nail clippers.  I explained to her that it was a monumental day (her first manicure- duh) and started to go to work.  Problem is, baby nails are tiny.  And they don't like to stay still.  Long story short, I nicked her tiny finger.  There was a lot of screaming.  And blood.  And I have retired the clippers.

At least I got 7 nails done before I got her?

Fail #3
While making quesadillas, I was thrilled to find a full container of sour cream in our fridge.  I opened it and took it to the sink to drain the juice...and dumped the whole container in the sink.

Am I alone or did anyone else have bad luck?

I've actually heard LOTS of moms do this, it's really common! Hope your day gets better :)

Did you cry? Because I would cry. Then I would eat chocolate. Do I need to send you some chocolate? Maybe try cutting her nails when she's asleep next time. Hopefully you'll get at least 8 nails before she wakes up.

LOL, sounds like my day on a regular basis! I'm such a klutz, though, so it's expected! :)

I know it's gross, but after I nearly bled my 1st child to death after trying to clip her infant nails, I started biting them when she was asleep. So gross, but I didn't want her scratching herself and it was the only way to guarantee I didn't hurt her by cutting too far back! Just an idea! :)

This sounds like me on a regular basis without the cute baby :) I've totally done that with sour cream. Not cool!

Hahahahah I totally can relate. Sorry it was such a fail-tastic weekend.

I nicked K once. I've found that it's the easiest to clip her nails while she's either asleep or nursing.

I nicked Mackenzie's fingers twice and I had to ask the doctor why there was so much blood! It scared me.
I started clipping her nails while she was asleep in her car seat. I'd even do it in the car for fear she would wake up when we got inside.

I am so nervous about the clipping of the finger nails...it seems so hard! I have heard the file works easier but who knows!

I had a pretty big fail this weekend. I was frosting/etching a glass bottle and dropped a bit of the etcher onto the screen of my iphone. So nope, you weren't alone.

Should I send you some ice cream and a blanket? Maybe you need some of both so that you can kick the bad luck?!

I know those days all too well. I was having "one of those days" once, and I went to strain a pit of spaghetti and the lid came loose and the entire pot went down the drain. I started bawling right then and there. I had just had enough badness for one day! You're NOT alone!

I got Eli when they were 5 months old. We were staying with my Grandma so my whole family was over. I felt horrible and was terribly embarrassed so from then on I only did it when they were nursing. It's cute you told her you were giving her her first manicure though.

My son will be a month on thursday and I still have yet to cut his nails because I am so scared of cutting his skin

I hate the way bad luck seems to snowball! Hope this week is off to a better start ;)

As for the baby nails...I file Jaqs', and it is much easier than clipping! No blood = success

You need to try that baby nail buffer I told you about, it helps me from freaking out about hurting V! lol I've only actually clipped her nails once and it was while she was sound asleep so she didn't budge thankfully!

I'm sure this will go better for you! :)

My nerves have just been so short today that I feel like I've been so mean and for no reason. :/ I'm sorry you've had a "Fail" kind of weekend, BUT, rest assured, you are NOT the only mom who's ever nicked fingers while clipping nails. I always did them while S was sleeping. I always told my husband that it was the hardest parent job, ever.

Poor lil' Skeet. And poor Mama! I hope this week is going MUCH better for you! xoxo
