Da Debil

Last Christmas, I somehow was convinced to purchase this terrible contraption for Mr. BUB.  I don't know how it happened, really.  But I do recall purchasing it willingly.  He must have put some spell over me.  Or it was the pregnancy hormones.  Normally, I would have never agreed to this.  And currently, I'm pretty sure that thing is da debil!  Picture the Waterboy right there, please?

It's an Xbox.

I'm seriously considering starting a Widows of Call of Duty group.  I'd be President.  Tara would be Vice President.  Our husbands play together literally every night.  While making fun of their conversations- and singing- never gets old, getting booted from the living room at 9 p.m. sharp does.

Then I was put on bedrest.  And I developed a solution to this issue that doesn't involve lighter fluid.  That's Plan B.

Here's Plan A:

Now that I have all of this time on my hands, I will learn to play COD.  Then, once I'm really good at it, I will beat Mr. BUB and his friends mercilessly.  They'll be too ashamed to play ever again.

The only problem with this plan?

This is the only video game I know how to play...

Love me some Super Mario. When did video games go from cool worlds with tunnels, ducks with turtle shells, and fireballs....to literally shooting other humans?

I'm sorry for your situation. And I'm very glad my husband isn't into video games.

omg...this is my life!! damn COD!! haha...I loved this post because I completely relate. 9pm tonight I will be kicked out of my own living room for the men to take over with their silly video games. I never had any problem with "gaming" until I married someone is LOVES their xbox and PS3 a tad bit too much!

Halo used to make me cry on a regular basis when my husband and I were first dating. I really, really like Plan A :)

Aghh, I LOVE my XBox! Sad thing is the bf has mine right now (well for the past several months) since his died. Oh how I miss my XBox.. I bought him a PS3 for Christmas hoping to get my XBox back, no luck though. Either way I still enjoy playing it with him. It can be annoying when he signs on with his friends though and yells at the TV.. I never get to play then. Try renting Disney Universe when he's not home. It's like an updated version of SMB's, only with Disney characters. It will get you back into the swing of video gaming. Good luck!

LOL - I am at a loss when it comes to modern video games. I liked nintendo and sega back in the day, but these games are over my head, and I have way better things to do!
My husband had a wide variety of gaming systems, and always gets mad that I "never play with him." Well that's because (a) he kicks my butt so it's no fun (b) he cheats. I'll join your video game widows club!

love mario! you can totally learn to play COD. while hes at work, you can practice, and of course find tips online to get better faster. when he's home, pretend like you just knitted all day. and then one day, ask 'hey can I try and play?' and KICK HIS BUTT! :)

While we don't have an Xbox we have a PS3 and I made the dumb decision to buy him that game last fall. After 6-8 weeks I was fed up and Invented this rule that COD could only be played if I wasn't home. I also made sure he recieved a head set for Christmas. End result = he never plays that game anymore :)

My husband got xbox this year for Christmas...he also put me under a spell.
Thankfully he has only one game so far. :)

I will have to try to singing...making fun of his conversations don't work.

Hahah! We have Super Mario Bros and Sonic the Hedgehog on our Wii. So fun! Luckily, my husband plays something on his computer so I never get kicked off the tv!!!

I have the old school games on my wii- love those! But for COD - at first I was all - it is violent and teaches bad lessons to kids. but then i played it with my now ex and i don't think it has that effect on adults... And CODMW 3 - and another game Rainbow 6 - are actually fun when you learn what the different buttons do. Plus it was fun to play with him (and impress him with my mad skills) try it. you might just like it!

This is a great plan! My husband plays that game for hours too! I have the same skills you do apparently, my gaming never progressed past Super Mario. I just can't do the joysticks!

Good plan, although I think I might get nauseated from the bloodshed. I, too, only know how to play Super Mario... but only SM World 3. I'm not up with the times, apparently. And I HATE when my husband plays video games. Luckily, I convinced him to leave his XBox at his parents' house and now we play Wii together if we take a video game out at all.

Hahahahaah, I'm awful at video games too! I only use game consoles to stream Netflix! That's how cool I am.

Super Mario (1&3) will always be classic. And the best. Hubs tried to teach me to play Call of Duty or some shooting game and I was so confused. He was literally holding my hands on the controller, explaining, and it was too much. I like being the controller of the a little dude, who is 2D, and hopping around on the screen. Actually being the dude in the game is far too confusing.

I thank God everyday that my boyfriend doesn't play video games.

PD asks me all the time when we are going back to your house to play Mario and you are his "Mario Fwend".

I'm so late to the party, but I bought my BF an XBox for Christmas 2 years ago. I swear I didn't see him again for about a month. But then I realized, while he's playing, I don't feel guilty playing in bloggyland!

I am so thankful my husband never got into that! We play Wii Mario Kart occasionally. I love me some Mario Brothers!
