Sausage Fingers

I have fat fingers.
No, this isn't a ploy to get you to say "Oh my gosh, you're fingers are soooo skinny!"
Because I'd know you're lying.

I wear a size 8 ring.
No lie.
When Mr. BUB went to purchase my engagement rings, the jeweler was sure he had the size wrong.
Would you like to see these sausages in person for proof, sir?

So now that I'm pregnant, my already plump digits are swollen.
And now these gorgeous rings are getting harder and harder to slip off in the evening.

I'm now officially beginning the search for faux rings.
I will not wait until these have to get cut off my finger.

Suggestions?

I hear you! I haven't been able to wear my wedding/engagement rings for about seven months. It made me VERY sad because they're so shiny and pretty (as are yours). I found a replacement ring from a company called Kameleon: http://kameleonjewelry.com/?np

They're super cool because the rings are sterling silver but the gems are semi-precious. The lady at the store said that it'd be under $30 to get it resized once I go back to normal. Plus the gem bits snap out of the ring so you can mix them up! Sounds totally crazy but I freaking LOVE mine! My ring finger felt so naked...

They may not be your style but I figured I'd shoot you the link anyway! ;)

I have tiny fingers, but my hands swell wicked bad when I get really hot so I had to get my rin half a size bigger.

Idk about faux rings stores though!

Your rings are beautiful.

Sorry about the swollen sausages. Nothing feels worse than swollen extremities. I dread that about pregnancy.

Good luck finding a temp replacement. You could always go sans rings and come up with sassy retorts for the dirty, judgmental looks you'll get. It would make for good blogging, so give it some serious consideration.

that picture does not do your rings justice girl!! I have a size 8 too- (even though I accidently told the boy i wear 7...oops)

Maybe they have maternity rings, like how they have maternity clothes? A ring that grows with your baby/body?
Chia Ring. I'll be on the lookout.

Your rings are gorgeous. Absolutely gorgeous.

I say yes to finding faux rings that fit properly...but I always love when I see the real ring on a chain around your neck. Call me old fashioned, but I think it is really cute. I have seen several pregnant women do this and I think it is just the cutest thing.

If my fingers do the same thing...I'll wear my rings around my neck. I would feel to weird to not have them on somewhere...does that make sense?

I wore my rings too long during pregnancy and had to get them cut off!! :( (But they sautered (sp?) them back for me!) .... Don't let it go too far girl! I went sans-rings for the rest of my pregnancy and felt a little- hoe-ish! :) hehe

I wear a size 7 which is sausage-ish on my 5 feet frame. I've been losing weight but these sausage fingers won't go away. I am also allergic to any metals besides gold so I won't even have the option of a faux ring whenever that time comes.

Totally agree with Michelle's comment. You should wear them as a necklace!

I think you could totally wear them on a necklace too!
Mine is getting tighter too..I take it off at night now to make sure it still fits in the AM.

Aww I feel your pain. I wear size 8too...which on small hands like mine can definitely look sausagey. ha! Thankfully my hands haven't swelled up (just my damn feet! :p) But I agree with the others - wearing them on a necklace is a good idea! :)

Agreed-- wearing them on a necklace is a good idea. Also, I know places like QVC and HSN have faux diamond jewelry. Maybe look there?

I feel your pain! I wear between a 7 1/2 and an 8. I love the necklace idea and I've also seen women wear the ring on their pinky when their hands are too swollen.

I thought about saying something nice but then I remembered all the times you have started pregnancy rumors about me.. So I'm just going to sit here and laugh at your sausage fingers. :)

I fear this. I agree with putting them on a necklace, but if your finger will feel naked go ahead and get a fake ring.

I waited too long with my first pregnancy and they got stuck! Luckily I didnt have to have a c section so it wasnt an issue. I couldnt get them off until Colt was about three months old!

So you are smart to go ahead and take them off.

I have fat size 8 fingers to. One of the good things about being a harlot like myself and having your kiddo outta wedlock is you don't have to worry about things like this. BAZINGA!

Hahah this post title made me laugh.

I wish I had advice. My rings have always been a bit big on me so when I got to my highest weight, they fit just right. lol.

Mine are a size 7. My sisters have long, skinny fingers. Not fair!

I have chubby fingers too, I have a super cute faux ring from Nordstrom. Love it.

No real suggestions, but your experience with the ring size person is something I've experienced only I'm the opposite of you - I have tiny fingers! My ring finger is a size 4 and when I took my paperwork in to get my class ring in high school the ring guy didn't believe me and insisted on rechecking my size with his sizer (which was the same one they sent home with us to use!) and was like "oh... I guess you DO have really small fingers!" LOL...

hahaha! so funny. i have super skinny fingers... which is probably equally annoying, because the rings are always too big for me and i have to get them sized down!

just found your blog... and i love it. you are hilarious!!

I’m an 8 too! I just didn’t wear my ring after 7 months, so I looked like an unwed pregnant lady! Hahaha.

Amazon has some very pretty rings that aren't too terribly priced! I bought one when my rings were off being soldered because I couldn't bear to have a naked ringfinger for 2 weeks. Now I wear it during the often unbearably humid and hot Virginia summer days because my fingers swell and my fake-bling is looser than my real bling. I also wear a size 8 and I didn't have any problem finding one I liked on Amazon.

I just hit 32 weeks and I am beginning to swell. Some of it is from the Procardia they have me on to stop contractions and I look forward to hitting 34 weeks to stop it. My ring is getting tight and I am with you, what to do? I like the wearing it on a necklace. My husband worked hard to get the perfect antique ring for me...
