Storytime. Part 4.

{Read previous parts here.}

To this day, Mr. BUB swears he didn't remember me from the towel incident.  He only realized it after I pointed it out a few months later.

I later learned the reason reason he added me on Facebook: He was adding all of the pretty girls from our school.  As it turns out, he added Tara, aka Fabulous But Evil, the same day!  And he sent us both similar messages.

But of course, I didn't know this at the time.  So I sent him back a cute message and we ended up chatting via Facebook messaging the rest of the night.  Facebook messaging eventually led to Instant Messaging, which led to late night phone calls.  He was bar tending in his hometown and didn't get off work until 3 a.m., so he would call and wake me up in the middle of the night to talk.

Eventually, I realized I need to break things off with the guy I was seeing out of town.  We'll call him J.  I called my best friend Julie to let her know I was on the road to her town and what my intentions were.  She agreed that it was the right decision and while we were talking, Julie's boyfriend showed up at her apartment with J in tow.

Julie told J that I was coming to town.  He started to get cocky and bragged to the guys that I was driving all that way to see him.  So Julie blurted out, "Oh yeah?  She's coming all this way to dump you.  So get over yourself."

I froze when I heard this.  Then I couldn't hold back my laughter.  "So I wasn't aware this was a perk that comes with being your friend.  Where have you been the past few guys?!"

to be continued...

For real, can't all best friends be the ones to do the breaking up? It would have been a lot easier!

Haha! I love reading these and I love how your friend put J in his place. IMing played a huge role in my husband and I's early relationship too. Of course I am a little older so our IMs were AOL :)
