Meltdown.

So, I had a little dramz last week...
As a former sorority girl, I generally try to avoid that at all costs.
This time was unavoidable.

I should start off by mentioning that my hubby is a budget nazi.
And I actually mean that in a good way.
Our bank accounts are always perfectly maintained.
Never overdrawn, never any 'close calls'.
I like it that way.  He likes it that way.

Last Tuesday, I went to the grocery store to buy dinner supplies.
I swiped my debit card like I always do.
Declined.
I laughed & swiped it again.
Declined.
The oh-so-helpful clerk mentioned (in a snarky tone) that maybe I should call my bank.
I mentioned that at 30 years old, maybe she shouldn't dye her hair blue.
Okay, I didn't really.

I paid with my emergency credit card and went to my car to check my balance.
$2.64
What.  The.  Heck.
I ran through recent transactions, only to learn that the bank took out our mortgage payment twice!

So, trying to remain calm, I called the bank.
The rude woman on the phone continuously called me Miss McKin.
Not my name.

After she continued to be rude, I finally had enough.
I needed gas to get home.
And my poor furbaby was at the vet.

Cue my meltdown.

This is not my fault.  I did not approve this payment.  And you are being far from helpful.  How do you suggest I pay for my gas?  And buy food?  And how the heck am I supposed to pay my cat's medical bills?!

I'm pretty sure that question wasn't covered in her CSR training.
I ended up having the whole situation resolved within the hour.
No thanks to Ellen, the customer disservice representative.

HAHAH! No one should dye their hair blue especially 30 year old checkers are grocery stores.

I would've had a total meltdown too. I've had a similar situation happen to me before & it's SO embarrassing when your card declines because it's like, "omg, they think I'm broke" haha!

Ugh that is so frustrating! I am glad it all worked out though. That is like my car payment I sent the bill in but because they received it on April 29th instead of May 1st, it wouldn't count for my may payment. I had to have a hissy fit on the phone for 30 minutes to get it my way.

Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry girl!!!

I'm so glad everything is okay now. What an awful feeling! I hate customer service representatives that are un-happy with their career choices...they always take out their bad days on us!!!

Ummm I would have a meltdown too! And is it just me or are customer service people nowadays rude?! If you aren't a people person you shouldn't be in that sector! I'm glad that you got it all worked out though :).

I would have reacted the same way too. One time Bank of America payed our water bill twice. The smaller $50-ish amount that I scheduled and then another random payment for $768?! I was so mad. The worst part is that it cleared before I noticed and I had to wait for the city to refund my money, which took like two weeks. Such a pain!

Yikes! I hate when you call trying to figure things out, they have messed up, and they are mean. How does that make sense?! Glad you got it worked out though!

Bahahahahahahahaha. I so wish you would have commented that past about age 20, blue hair isn't acceptable. But- I hate that you had to go through that. Not fun. ever.

Oh my goodness! That's happened to us before, too. I totally feel your pain and I'm completely in awe of your ability not to completely lay that B flat out over the phone.

That's happened to me before, so frustrating, and the banks are so unhelpful.
I would have had a meltdown, too.

I would have had a meltdown too! I hate when people who are supposed to be helpful are not! I'm glad it was all resolved and it got worked out! :)

Yupp a meltdown is a perfect response to something like that happening. This has happened a few times to me, and my stomach stays queasy until my bank account is back to a reasonable number that I'm used to. I'm glad that you got it all resolved though!

And those bank people are always rude like that, it's like they're always having a bad day.
